I agree about small villages vs large cities, but that looks too small for me.
It's good to read about your Chinese adventures, but is there a dictionary for those of us who can't read Chinese?
I'm mostly using Chinese for place names and certain phrases and festivals. The people who know Chinese wouldn't recognise "Zhongqiujie" but they do know what 中秋節 is. The people who don't know Chinese won't recognise either.
I'll read all of this when I have more time.
