You Should Be Dancing

Somebody suggested I turn this into a Mt Everest expedition blog. That is not going to happen. The trivial details of making something like this happen are just not the kind of thing I would want to read about. Today we looked at flight schedules. Tomorrow we buy crampons. Not interested.

I have researched the Climb Mount Everest thing, and I am veRy supportive of you not climbing that particular mountain. I think the risk-reward-expense-time aspects of the venture are not worth it with current technology.

there are many books as you said. there is only one worth reading... at least in my books.

here is the author and into the air is the book.

Jon Krakauer (born April 12, 1954) is an American writer and mountaineer, primarily known for his writing about the outdoors and mountain-climbing. He is the author of best-selling non-fiction books—Into the Wild, Into Thin Air, Under the Banner of Heaven, and Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman—as well as numerous magazine articles.

Definitely keep your blog as is, with well written occasional blog entries. The little detail "what I did today" blogs are not so interesting. Should you need to blog about Everest planning, have some fun with it:
Aug 1 - Physical training begins, as I walk up to the second story of my apartment building.
Aug 15 - I make it up to the third floor.
Aug 31 - I make it to the 5th floor. I think I'm ready.
Sept 15 - Found out there is no TV reception at base camp. What on earth do people do?
Oct 1 - Bought my new Quad sleeping bag (bag inside a bag inside a bag inside a bag). Will need two more Sherpas to carry it.

Oct 15 - Have made it to 7th floor of building carry TV remote and a beer. I think my strength training is paying off.
Oct 31 - To speed up the hike through all that snow, I've decided to strap baby polar bears to my feet. A new technology.

Nov 15 - Our trip will coincide with Passover. In honor of that, we shall construct our tent from Matzo, and wander 40 days on Everest looking for some gefilte fish.
Nov 30 - Will need video for this blog and the trip, so have hired another 15 Sherpas to act as the video crew.
