Make Mine a Double, Isaac (or Greece is the Word)

The next day we arrived in Mykonos. This was more like the Greece I wanted to see. There were too many tourists but Ria and I found a way around them. While the oldsters took a bus tour of the shuffleboard museum and a pelican, Ria and I hired scooters and wandered about the island. The pelican part is not a joke. There is actually a famous pelican that people go to see. Ria and I did not see any pelicans but we found a great little beach. I think Mr Ya’acov would have had a heart attack had he gone with us. All those bare young bodies would have put him over the edge. Ria is not as textile liberated as I am but you know what they say. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When on a Greek beach, take off your clothes.

Thank you for your visit. I shall respond here later since I have now to feed the dogs, the ducks and the cats. PS Your grandparents sound like a delightful couple. 63 years. Wow.

I promise not to mention Bernie Kopell.

Izmir. I am very impressed that you noted the characteristic of the place. Izmir, is in fact the place where more battles took place than any other place on this side of the globe (even more than your neck of the woods)..

Had something to do with strategy, horse people, plains and the like. Am just reading a book on the topic. I have an interest in Ancient history and read a few pages every night to keep my ancient mind functioning.

Sorry for all of the consecutive posts and I know you probably know all of these already but your family descriptions made me think of jewish families I have known:

ONE-LINER JEWISH JOKES

The Harvard School of Medicine did a study of why Jewish women like Chinese food so much. The study revealed that it is due to the fact that Won Ton spelled backwards is Not Now.

There's big controversy on the Jewish view of when life begins. In Jewish tradition, the fetus is not considered viable until after it graduates from medical school.

Why don't Jewish mothers drink? Alcohol interferes with their suffering.

Have you seen the newest Jewish-American Princess horror movie? It's called, "Debbie Does Dishes."

What's a Jewish American Princess' favorite position? Facing Tiffany's.

When the doctor called Mrs. Liebenbaum to tell her that her check came back, she replied, "So did my arthritis."

A Jewish boy come home from school and tells his mother he's been given a part in the school play. "Wonderful? What part is it?" The boy says, "I play the part of the Jewish husband." The mother scowls and says, "You go back and tell the teacher you want a speaking part."

Where does the Jewish husband hide his money from his wife? Under the vacuum cleaner.

What's the difference between a Rottweiler and a Jewish Mother? Eventually, the Rottweiler lets go."

A Jewish telegram: "Start worrying. Details to follow."

I've dreamed of visiting the Greek Isles since I was an adolescent and watched "Summer Lovers" with Daryl Hannah.

I wanted to visit Greece since I got the tickets.

Those jokes are aimed at Americans but I did enjoy this one

ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema

Who is this guy. I am hearing rumours about him. Like, he is a younger Nelson Mandela.

Mia said...

The ANC in Mandela's day was an illegal party that tried to change the very heart of South Afrika. And eventually succeeded. Today it's a corrupt organisation in charge of a bloated bureaucracy.

Malema is a racist misogynist who has publicly said he's willing to kill for Zuma. Future RSA president Zuma has been charged with everything from corruption to rape.

Mandela started out as a terrorist but evolved into a peace activist. Malema aspires to be a terrorist.

Wonderful Cretens. I wonder how many people noticed that.

So when are we going to see some pics? Specificly from the naked beaches?

I'm sure everybody got the Creten comment.

I haven't put any of the pictures from this trip on my computer yet. I'm still editing a video from China so I'm a little behind.
