Giving Thanks

I have been to a few Thanksgiving dinners and it always reminds me of many of our festivals. Pray, eat, recover. And there is always more than enough food left for tomorrow. I especially like the pumpkin pie. That might be America’s greatest contribution to world cuisine. Pumpkin pie and chocolate chip cookies. They can invade everybody and pretend to be the world’s police as long as they keep making pumpkin pie.

You have a very interesting blog. It looks as if you have travelled a lot too. That's something I would love to do. My mother was from South Africa.

I will be back to read more of your posts...!

We dont celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia but my step-mum has created our own "thanksgiving" where we get together to have dinner (or lunch) and just spend some time together before all the hecticness of Christmas and reflect on the year. It's always a good idea to remember to give thanks for everything you have. And I'm with ya on the American football!

Eating food with indigenous people because Spain killed them all is interesting. How kind, isn't it? The only thing I like about Thanksgiving is the pumpkin pie. UnitedStatians football suuucks! I was getting into Dallas Cowboys last year because of their big butt but things changed.

I think the entire world knows how bad American football is. It's the one thing we can all agree on. And probably why Americans try to be so isolationist.

Michelle, don't forget the British and French. They killed their fair share.

Mrs P, we have enough festivals around here where we get together and eat. I think most of us are thankful that we're still alive. We don't need to mark the calendar to remember.

Jo, your mother must be a wonderful person.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It has all the 4Fs, food, family, friends, and yes, football. American football. Is there any other kind?
