My father served in Korea and I'm glad you touched on that aspect of it and not just the tourist places. We need to remember that, before the illegal invasion of Iraq, more servicemen were in Korea than anywhere else in the world. I hope I get the chance to go there someday.
The DMZ is very touristy. At least the areas where tourists can go. You take a bus full of tourists and go on a guided tour. There's an educational video presentation and gift shop. It's like a museum with thousands of soldiers ready to kill each other at a moment's notice.

That is one war you cannot blame on Russia.
You can if you try. If Russia and the US had not divided Korea then North Korea would have never invaded South Korea.
